The El Monterey building was constructed and designed in 1928 by the architect E.J. Beardsley and is excellent example of Spanish Colonial Revival Style.
The owner was very interested in preserving and continuing this architectural style. The project involved a kitchen and bath remodel, matching the original textured Spanish plaster walls, and using hand painted tiles and several other period appropriate details.
