Kitchen Remodels

Wallingford Kitchen Remodel

This charming 1920s home got a full kitchen facelift.

The main objective for this charming 1920s home was to open the dysfunctional kitchen up to the dining space for better flow and ease of entertaining. To do so, we removed the existing wall between the dining room and kitchen while working with certain parameters such as keeping multiple doorways and walkways throughout the space.

In the end, we designed a peninsula space which allows for seating and extra workspace, enclosed the existing nook to create a walk-in pantry with a frosted glass pocket door, and provided a layout that was much more functional for our client. To keep as many original details of the home, we were able to save the coved ceiling molding in the dining space and weaved new stained oak flooring with the existing to create a cohesive uninterrupted look.
