Fremont Dormer and Kitchen Addition
New life was given to this 100 year old craftsman in the Fremont neighborhood.
In collaboration with Alloy Design Group for the architectural work and the client, this craftsman home is larger than life. A ten foot by 20 foot addition was added to the rear of the home to make room for a true chef’s kitchen.
Design elements from existing sun porch on the front of the home were mirrored to make the addition look like it was always part of the home. The tapered columns were new and hold necessary structural members. They were finished to match the existing box beam ceiling and the other original millwork found throughout the main floor. Upstairs two large dormers were created to give each of the family’s children their own bedrooms.
